Trick or Treat California Style

I know I am behind on blogging but I have a good excuse, my computer hates me. It is painfully slow, so whenever I even think about updating I decide I don't want to wait around for my pictures to download. But today as I got on and realized it has been over a month I thought I better get with it and post what has been going on with the Johnsons!
So to start....Halloween day was a busy and very fun day. We started the day by catching a flight to Sunny California to visit Steve's brother Mike and his family. As you can see in the picture Teagan is very excited to get on the plane. I don't know why but whenever I take pictures Teagan always has to do some ninja pose. It must be a boy thing!!
When we landed we made our way to Steve's brother's house, and luckily for us Briana's (sister-in-law) mom invited us over for a Halloween dinner. The kids were a little nervous because we were told we were having snake for dinner, and I must say it was very good. But after they saw that the snake was really a sandwich they relaxed and chowed down.
This year Kylie wanted to be a lady bug and Teagan Mickey Mouse. Do you notice a difference from Trick-or-Treating in California compared to Idaho. My kids are in shorts and t-shirts. It was so nice not to bundle up and cover the costumes with coats and snowpants. Poor little Teagan was sweating in his costume. I think we might have to make a tradition of going to California on Halloween. The only problem I had was no one handed out Smarties or Tootsie Rolls, that is the only reason I let my kids go trick or treating is to get me those. Out of two bags full of candy we got a total of 5 tootsie rolls and 0 smarties. I couldn't believe it, but they got a ton of M&M's and snickers, I guess that will have to do.

Halloween Fun

I absolutely love Halloween, it is one of my favorite holidays. It is just so much fun, I love to decorate and dress up, and there are always some type of Halloween activities going on. This year it has been a very busy holiday, between family parties, school parties, ward parties, and neighbor parties we have had something to do with Halloween almost everyday the last two weeks. So much fun.
This week my family got together to carve some pumpkins at my parent's house. I usually ask Kylie what she wants me to carve on the pumpkin but this year I let her carve her own. It was a little scary, but she was able to do it with no loss of blood. I think I drove her crazy standing over her shoulder making sure everything was okay. It is hard to let my kids grow up and do things on their own.
Kylie, Joey, Papa Bill, and Brayden carving away!

The pumpkin heads!
Kylie's school has been celebrating red ribbon week this week and each day they get to dress up. One day was crazy hair day so this is how Kylie wanted to do her hair. Doing her hair was pretty easy, but taking it out didn't go very well, let just say she has chunks of hair missing. But the important lesson is I have learned from my mistakes so hopefully it won't happen again. That is if she will let me fix her hair again.

The next day was Super Hero Day
One of the Halloween parties was for the girls in activity days in my ward. The girls dressed up and looked so cute, we had a party with lots of treats and fun games.
Teagan and Hadley after their pre-school Halloween party. Teagan's costume is a little small for him. He wanted to be Mickey Mouse but the only size I could find was 24 months, so I had to get it for him. Oh well, he still is the cutest Mickey Mouse!! And of course Hads looks hot as a rock star or as she calls herself "Hannah Montana" or a "Ballerina" or whatever she is in the mood to be.

Disneyland in October

October has been a crazy busy month. We have moved out of our rental house in Blackfoot and have moved in with my parents until December. They have been begging us to move in with them because we are just so much fun to be around, at least that is what I am trying to convince them of. We will be moving back to Utah after Christmas, where, we are not sure yet. I will be transferring to BYU so either back into our house in Herriman or somewhere in Utah Valley. I am sure we won't decide until the day we are moving. On to the fun stuff now, we were able to go to Disneyland again this year with my parents and sister and her family. It was a lot of fun. You might notice Steve is only in a few pictures, that is because he had to leave after a couple days of vacation to go to work. But don't feel too bad for him because he had to go to Hawaii. Poor guy, what a tough job!!! On our way home my parents dropped me off in Vegas and drove the rest of the way home with my kids, oh how I owe them big. Steve flew into Vegas and met me and we were able to go to the BYU vs. UNLV game. So even though October has been very busy it has been a fun month!!

Lake Powell

We decided to do a final boating trip for the year and what better place to go than Lake Powell?? This is the second trip to powell this year, but the weather for this trip was absolutely perfect. It got up to a high of 90 during the day and down to the mid 50's at night. Over the 4th of July it was a touch Hot :) Im now having to start my anti-depressant medicine again as now it is time to Winterize the boat and put it away until next may :( Its the saddest part of the year...
This is the famous Store in the Mountain in Hanksville. No Powell trip is complete without a stop here... This is Ricky, Kylie, and Teag
Some old lady asked Morgan if she would walk her dogs for her, so Morgan was happy to help out. We all thought it was pretty funny
Teag and his blue mustache from the Gatorade. He had it the whole week

This is our private little cove where we set up camp. Ricky and Kylie would swim from Sunrise until sunset if they could! :)

First Day of School

I love the first day of school, it is so exciting. Kylie started 1st grade this year and it has been so much fun. She is loving every minute of it!! It is sad to have her leave in the morning and have her gone so long, she is growing up too fast. On her first day back Teagan and I didn't know what to do with ourselves, he kept on asking me where Kylie was and asking every 30 minutes if it was time to pick her up. But now I think he likes having her gone all day, he likes having mom and dad to himself.
Teagan started pre-school this year and I was a little worried that he would cry and not like it, but he loves it, and always wants to wear his backpack around. He likes that he is a big boy and can go to school like Kylie.

Summer Fun

We are so sad to say goodbye to summer, it went by too fast. Steve was real busy with work and I was going to school full time so our summer seemed to fly by. But we were able to have some fun this summer. On some of our trips to Utah I forgot to take my camera so I wasn't able to take pictures of the fun times we had. One of the trips we went to Park City to ride the Alpine Slide and Coaster and I am sure Steve was glad I didn't bring the camera so I could take a picture of him once again behind me as we raced down the slide. I think this is our third time racing and my third victory!!! We also went to Big Cottonwood Canyon and hiked down a trail to a stream, it was so pretty and I was so mad that I didn't bring my camera...I guess we will have to do it again. But any way, we had tons of fun and hopefully winter stays away for a little while...
Oh no, the trouble makers doing what they love best, eating Popsicles. Don't let them fool you by their sweet, innocent looking faces!
Hadley, Teagan, and Cooper
On one hot summer day we went to Ross Park to play in the pools. My sister and here kids plus a friend and her kids were able to come with us.
Tanner, Teagan, and Dallin splashing around in the water.
Ashlin and Kylie having some fun in the sun.

Bear Lake

Every year my whole family plans a boating trip for a weekend and this year we went to Bear Lake. The weather was a little cool but we were able to have some fun. The water was so high this year and trying to find a spot on the little beach was almost impossible, but we found a nice little spot that wasn't very crowded. I didn't get any pictures but we were able to play wiffle ball and ultimate frisbee, I will have to ask around and see if anyone took some pictures of the intense games. While the adults were playing and ignoring the kids on the beach, the little kiddos got out their water toys and went to work.
Steve trying to enjoy some lunch next to the pool, what a rough life.
Teagan loved his arm wings and little green water ring, he would play in the water floating around, but when he got out of the pool he wouldn't get out of the water ring, so he would walk around the pool with it around his ankles.
Here are the 3 musketeers Kylie, Joey, and Ashlin.
Here are the brave kids ready to go on a tube ride, or they just wanted to ride in the boat but not get wet walking out to it so they got a ride on the tube...

Teagan's Birthday

Happy 3rd Birthday Teagan, we had a water party at my parent's house for Teagan, which was not the best idea. He cried most of the time because he didn't want to get wet. We also had a pinata, but he didn't want to hit it, so next year I think we will have a princess party, he will enjoy that a lot better.
Teagan's fancy new bike that he loves to ride all the time.
More toys, he was a little spoiled this year.
Candy time, Teagan is standing by me crying again.
This is not at his birthday party but I had to take a picture of my two kiddos on the 4th of July.
